📖 The Complete Free Unit Converter

All Units Converter gives you instant, accurate conversions across 8 measurement categories and over 80 unit types. Whether you need to convert meters to miles, kilograms to pounds, celsius to fahrenheit, or megabytes to gigabytes — everything is here.

How Unit Conversion Works

Every unit is stored with its exact factor relative to an SI base unit. Converting A → B multiplies your input by A’s factor divided by B’s factor — computed to 10 significant figures. Temperature is the only exception, using offset formulas that are applied automatically.

Metric (SI) vs. Imperial Units

The International System (SI) uses meters, kilograms, liters and seconds. The US customary and Imperial systems use miles, pounds, gallons and Fahrenheit.

Digital Storage (Binary Prefixes)

Uses binary prefixes (1 KB = 1,024 bytes):

  • 1 KB = 1,024 bytes · 1 MB = 1,048,576 bytes
  • 1 GB = 1,073,741,824 bytes · 1 TB = 1,099,511,627,776 bytes
